Freedom from Torture - Thank-a-thon 2017 – Giving Tuesday

Thank-a-thon 2017 – Giving Tuesday

Freedom from Torture are excited to be running their first Thank-a-thon today, on Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday started in opposition to Black Friday, a big sales day, to encourage people to think about giving and not just buying. So this year we wanted to use it as an opportunity to tell our supporters how grateful we are.

We would not be able to achieve our goals without the support, involvement and enthusiasm of our many committed supporters. It is because of our supporters that we are able to provide survivors of torture with counselling, medical assessments and specialist services, including group work, creative therapies and welfare advice. Our supporters enable us to change survivors' lives for the better.

A Thank-a-thon is a great time to reflect on our work and for our Doctors, Legal Workers, Senior Management Team, Fundraisers and Facilities Team to talk to supporters about their reasons for supporting Freedom from Torture and to allow supporters to directly ask questions  about our work with survivors of torture.

We will be calling supporters from 10am-5pm and writing Christmas cards all day. It is a great time for everyone to reflect on Freedom from Torture’s mission and connect with our supporters directly.
